Wisdom Teeth Removal

Although not all wisdom teeth need to be removed, when concerns such as pain or infection occur, or when future concerns with their development need to be prevented, it is recommended to evaluate the need for their removal.

Wisdom teeth typically appear when you are between 17 and 25 years old, and are the last molars to erupt. Typically wisdom teeth require removal due to inadequate space in the mouth, making them less functional and more likely to cause damage or crowding to other teeth, and cause infection.

The Process

To determine if your wisdom teeth should be removed, Dr. Nawrot will examine x-rays of your teeth and do a thorough dental examination of the area. These x-rays will allow Dr. Nawrot to see the position of the wisdom teeth as well as any other dental concerns that might impact the development of the teeth and the need for their removal.
