When you come in for this cosmetic dental service, Dr. Nawrot will assess your teeth to make sure that you have no dental concerns that will affect the outcome of your teeth whitening. Teeth with dental decay will need to be treated with permanent restorations before ZOOM Whitening can be used. It is also recommended that your teeth are professionally cleaned no more than 2 weeks prior to receiving ZOOM Whitening so that all tartar and bacteria can be removed and you will obtain the best results possible. After your assessment is complete the ZOOM Whitening will begin. Protective gels will be applied to your lips and gums to protect them from the whitening agent. Then the whitening agent is applied and the light activator is placed directly above your teeth.
At the end of your appointment the protective gels and whitening agent will be removed and you can admire your new whiter smile! As with any whitening procedure minor sensitivity can be experienced during, and after, your ZOOM whitening appointment. Staining foods, like coffee, tea, red wine, and berries, as well as smoking, should be avoided for 2-3 days after your appointment so you can avoid the chance of permanently staining your teeth and enjoy your new smile for longer.
